Moreover, the original writer of the book Winston also went on to write two sequels to Forrest Gump ” Bubba Gump & Co that was published in 1995 and the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Cookbook was also released an year prior to the Bubba Gump & Co in 1994. And surprisingly it doesn’t have any kind of affiliation with the restaurant chain “BubbaGump”

This was an instance that actually happened as a ceremony honoring the heroes of the Vietnam War were given medals.
The Then First Class Sammy L Davis, who were shot nearly 30 times in the back and buttocks by friendly fire. So the iconic shot in the butt of Forrest came from the real life story of the then Private Sammy when he was fighting with his suqad of 42 against nearly 1500 Vietcong soldiers.
Davis himself went on to say”I was wounded in the same place as Forrest Gump. They built a lot of things around my story,” Davis says.
