One Piece has been one of the longest grossing animes and has taken all of its fans on quite a roller coaster ride of emotions on the way. The anime has been running for well over 2 decades now
The main story of this anime revolves around pirates who roam around the world free from any kind of restrictions. But like every good and bad there are pirates who don’t unnecessarily hurt others and go on their adventures just for the hell of it and on the other hand, there are many who don’t care about killing people and using all kinds of trickeries to achieve what they want. One of the many questions that many people who are new to the nine world ask is that is one piece really as good as it is made to be, well that is exactly what we will be answering in this article.
One Piece is without a doubt one of the greatest anime shows. now that we have looked at the bright side lets dive into why some people don’t like One Piece
Main Reasons Why Some Don’t Like One Piece
The main reason why the people who didn’t give One Piece a good rating was because of some of the following reasons
- The real story’s progression speed has slowed down over time which pisses even some of the most loyal fans. As sometimes the creators prolong an episode unnecessarily
- One Piece is not yet complete and its episodes are still coming. This is something that many people who are starting out to watch this anime don’t like about it
- Some people also don’t like One Piece because of the mere fact that the whole storyline is based on pirates and this is something that doesn’t dwell well with everyone
- Some say that it doesn’t have enough complexity to intrigue them after having watched animes like Death Note and Code Geass
- Some say that it is just too long an anime to suit their taste
- Aimless going, no actual excitement as was in the first days of one price
Some Bad Reviews About One Piece Go As Following
“What the hell is happening to One piece, its getting worst day by day. It used have so much fun, action, drama and emotion. Now its just stupid character with their stupid power. I think one piece writer is out of new ideas. I mean look at the characters earlier and look the characters these days, stupid and mostly irritating. They are just stretching a single episode with no story at all. You wait the whole week and get this piece of crap. What is hell right? I am really getting annoyed with Big Mom chasing for stupid cake. Seriously guys? Is this the best you guys can offer? Where is that awesome story and emotion and comedy that one piece used to provide. Even burning Going Merry made most of us cry. Sorry One piece but this is not going well.”
One could call it One Pie and I couldn’t blame them. Comparing it with Dragon Ball, Naruto, or Bleach is a total nonsense, they are not even the same genre. While the other mentioned animes are about the character aiming to be better and better, obviously getting stronger and more developed, One Piece has nothing of it. It CAN’T have any of it. This series is suffering The Course of Super Mario, aka. “Your Princess is in Another Castle”. Well, at least they don’t suffer The Curse of Ash Ketchum aka. “Your Princess Doesn’t Exist”, but that’s the best you can bring into its defense.
The basic structure is that this crew looking like they were designed by David Lynch (terrible writer/director, excellent designer) hop onto a random island, beat up the local governor who is usually a tyrant, then leave the scene. They don’t even take any loot, despite aiming to be pirates. Rinse and repeat. This of course happens because the only real way to tell the story would be 1) get the map 2) get to the island 3) dig up the treasure 4) there is no 4th step, it ends by finding the treasure. To make things even worse, the protagonist is immortal and invincible from the get-go, thus there is no space for tension or development.
I give you the coloration is OK, and the animation is achieving in the weird factor, but that doesn’t substitute the 1,000 episodes they’re obviously aiming. Pick up a random Tom&Jerry episode, or Simpsons, and you get the same result with much less investment.
“I hate the names of the characters and what they look like. The plot is dumb, and now the creators have turned luffy into Goku for some reason. A Toddler with any IQ above room temperature could have created a better show than this. Besides, pirate themed movies and television shows are always boring to watch. Hell, even Naruto is better, and it’s story is so slow Internet Explorer was able to look up the show’s premise faster than it took for one episode to end.
And yet everyone seems to think that One Piece is infinitely better than Bleach. Please give me one good reason why that is and I will remove this review. After all, I also thought that the new Star Wars movie was stupid, and a lot of people agreed with me.“
The Basic Story Of One Piece
The main purpose of most of the pirates shown in the anime is to find the hidden treasure “One Piece” which was a treasure left hidden by the pirate “Gol D. Roger” who conquered all the sees, unraveled all the histories and mysteries of this world and was known as the king of the pirates. It is known and accepted that whoever finds the treasure that was hidden by the Pirate King himself would become the Pirate King.
The Pirate King became victim to an untreatable disease and decided to surrendered himself to the “Maines”, who later publicly executed him. But at the time of his execution, he declared that the treasure he owned “the greatest treasure ever owned by any pirate” and often thought by many as not real exists and that he has hidden it somewhere in the sea. These last words of Gol D. Roger started off a whole new of era of Pirates where hundreds of thousands of people started their journeys into the sea to find this legenderay treasure. Down below is the video showing the last words of the legendary pirate which sparked the birth of a whole new pirate era
One Piece is without a doubt one of the most famous animes of all times and the reviews do stand for that. But it doesn’t suit everyone as it is long and has recently become a bit slow when it comes to its storyline progressing speed. It still is the favorite anime of many of the otakus out there and is definitely worth giving a shot to if you have time. And for those of you who would prefer a summary of it all, down below is a video where a youtube tries to sum up this anime in 3 minutes
